Commonly Asked Questions

Find quick answers to the questions we get asked the most about IELTS preparation and our courses.
What exactly is the IELTS exam?
It’s your ticket to study, work, or live abroad — if you can prove to the world that you do speak English and not just text in it.
IELTS tests Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, and yes — real English. Not the textbook kind that nobody uses.
Is IELTS difficult?
Well… it’s not a walk in the park, but it’s not the Himalayas either. If you’re consistent and smart (read: don’t just cram vocabulary from Instagram reels), you’ll be fine. I’ve trained students who thought "cohesion" was a shampoo brand — they still scored 7+.
How do I know if I should take IELTS Academic or General?
Academic: Going abroad to study? This is your route.

General: Migrating or applying for a visa? This is the one. Still confused? That’s what I’m here for.
How is IELTS scored?
You get a Band Score from 0 to 9 in each section.
9 = IELTS Black Belt.
6 = good enough to survive without Google Translate.
3= You need more blessings from god and my support to get better because 3 is a big no no!
You also get an overall band score (average of all four).
How long does the IELTS test take?
2 hours and 45 minutes of English fun!

Listening – 30 mins
Reading – 60 mins Writing – 60 mins
Speaking – 11–14 mins of pretending you're not nervous in front of a stranger with a clipboard.
What’s the first step to start preparing?
Don't rush into buying books and watching 50 YouTube videos a day.
Talk to a trainer who actually knows the test inside out. You know who I am talking about. wink wink

Do I need to know grammar perfectly?
Nope. This isn’t a grammar Olympics.
You just need to use enough correct grammar to say what you mean clearly — and not sound like Google Translate made a mistake.
How long does it take to prepare?
don’t sue me for estimates):
It depends on your current command of the English language, but in general, students are prepared in one month.
What happens in the Speaking test?
Three parts:
Chat about you
Talk about a topic for 1–2 mins
Discuss deeper stuff with the examiner.
No, they’re not judging your accent. Just speak clearly, sound human, and don’t recite memorized essays.
What should I bring on test day?
Your valid ID (passport/Aadhar depending on location)
Water bottle (transparent)
Your cool — don’t leave that at home.
How do I calm my nerves before the Speaking test?
Here’s the hack:
Don’t overthink. You’re not delivering a TED Talk.
Smile. Speak naturally. The examiner doesn’t bite.
Imagine you’re explaining things to a curious friend — not the Queen.
Can I go blank during the test?
Yes, it’s normal. No, it’s not the end. Breathe. Rephrase. Use fillers (“Let me think...”)
I’ll train you to survive those moments like a pro.
How do I stay motivated while preparing?
Set realistic goals. Celebrate small wins.
And don’t compare your journey to someone who’s been secretly binge-watching BBC for 5 years.
What if I’m really bad at English?
Nobody is “bad” at English. You just haven’t been taught right.
Give me your time and attention — and I’ll give you the language superpowers you didn’t know you had.
